CAT CAMS camshaft for AUDI 5 cylinders 2.1L 10v SOHC (DTS)
Here are our camshafts from Cat Cams for AUDI 5 cylinders 2.1L 10v SOHC (DTS)
Description :
The Cat Cams camshaft will allow you to considerably increase the performance of your vehicle.
When a vehicle must receive extensive mechanical preparation to obtain results worthy of the name and above all a significant range of progression, work on the camshafts becomes inevitable.
When preparing the Cat Cams camshaft, two modifications are observed: the valve lift and the opening angle.
Valve lift allows you to change the length and opening angle, which causes less or more air to enter the combustion chamber.
You should know that more air entering therefore modifies the air/fuel mixture in the cylinders, which increases power at high revs.
Also, the greater the opening angle of the valve, the more the air flow increases, which promotes the air/fuel mixture and therefore more power.
Therefore for use in competition, leisure, circuit and other, the revs will be sharper, the character of your engine will be more furious and thus you will benefit from a better range of use which will become a real asset.
Without broaching the subject of driving pleasure which will increase your sensations tenfold.

IMPORTANT:In the first generation 5-cylinder, 2-valve mechanical engines, two different types of distributors were used. Even if the distributor drive is not used, the cams are not interchangeable. Please read the notes below carefully to recognize the type of camshafts you have. - 10020xx: The oldest type has a 13 tooth distributor drive gear. It is mounted at the end of the camshaft with a crimp fitting 21mm away from the thrust washer (also last bearing). - 10021xx: the newer type has a distributor drive gear with 17 teeth, which is also press-fitted at the end of the camshafts, but directly against the thrust washer (also last bearing). Please indicate which type of intake camshaft you require when ordering and use the correct part number digits corresponding to the correct camshaft type. All camshafts are billet steel.
