This stainless steel plate limits the splashing of the crankshaft in the oil and reduces the power losses linked to this energy wasted in the revs.
It also slows down the movements of the oil during mass transfers (acceleration, braking, downforce on a curve) conducive to lift-off. It is mounted on 1.3L VAG engines (Polo G40, GT ..)
