With its unique design, this oil catch can allows you to recover impurities in the oil vapors which normally pass through the intake. This oil collector also prevents excess oil in the upper engine (cylinder head) during heavy braking, which is often observed on the circuit and which leads to failures and potentially significant breakage.
So the goal is not only to condense the vapors in the bottom of the tank, it also ensures that the air/fuel mixture is maintained optimally by avoiding the problem of slowly filling the intercooler (air exchanger) and the intake pipe with oil. It overrides the intake manifold port going to the PCV valve and has a tap for referencing manifold pressure for installing a boost gauge.

Note : Vehicles using oil catch cans in temperatures below freezing are advised to remove the oil catch can during the winter months to avoid freezing problems. Race cars that must operate oil catch cans in freezing conditions must take additional measures to prevent freezing, such as an electric heater or cleaning the system regularly. Take care when routing the lines and avoid sagging as this can allow oil/water to build up and freeze.
