With the FMINDK49 installed on the vehicle, the first thing you will notice is a change in the acoustics of the engine sound. There's now a nice bark at low revs and a steady induction roar all the way to redline. The sound isn't too intrusive and when you drive conservatively everything is very civilized and refined.
With our extensive expertise and experience in air induction filtration systems, the 2.0TB generator set required an extensive testing period to ensure we were getting a product that offered real improvements over the standard enclosure. standard air. We have increased the filtration surface area by 38% using either our Forge Ramair high flow synthetic pleated nano fiber filtration filter or Pipercross foam filters, which have been manufactured for optimal size and to fit the available space, providing superior flow and filtration with improved breathing.
The CAD-designed, laser-cut and precision-bent heat shield was designed to form a barrier between the air intake duct and radiant heat from the engine. It also helps channel cold air to the air filter as the design incorporates the stock cold air duct which helps preserve low intake temperatures and in turn produces an increase in power. We expect gains of 6 to 7 hp and 15 to 18 Nm of torque.
Aesthetically, the FMINDK49 looks very functional in the engine bay and finished in our black textured powder coat, overall creates a premium product, with an OEM look.
Why are we trying to reduce the IAT?
