As on any vehicle and more particularly sports models, prepared for leisure or competition, the engine mounts are nerve centers on the behavior of the mechanics. The most developed engines impose significant constraints on transmitting their power to the transmission and therefore to the ground. A lot of effort which over time will weaken the original rubbers which will end up crushing or tearing. This will cause inappropriate movement of the engine in its compartment.

With the StreetSport range for Motorsport mounts from 034Motorsport for the Volkswagen Golf MK5 GTI 2.0 TFSI, Golf 6 R GTI, EOS and Audi TT TTS 8J, A3 8P 8P 2.0 TFSI models are the new standard in high performance. These mounts are designed with extreme performance in mind, made from machined aluminum and high hardness rubber, making them virtually indestructible, whilst maintaining better driving characteristics than polyurethane alternatives. These mounts have a lifetime warranty regardless of the power level applied and the type of track racing they are used for.

Motorsport StreetSport mounts are vacuum- and fluid-free, eliminating the slop associated with factory engine/transmission mounts, and are designed to be fully rebuildable with replaceable high-density rubber bushings called High Density Line. These heavy-duty mounts will result in a moderate increase in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) transfer into the cabin, as they are designed to significantly reduce engine movement compared to factory parts, but will introduce less NVH than our TrackSport mounts. due to the low hardness rubber used. The extra NVH is more noticeable at idle, but once the vehicle is moving the NVH is slightly higher than stock.

High hardness rubber compared to polyurethane:

High density engine mounts are made from high hardness rubber instead of polyurethane for a number of reasons. While vulcanized rubber mounts are more expensive to prototype due to increased manufacturing complexity and high initial tooling costs, rubber is inherently better than polyurethane as a damping medium for mounts and bushings.

Rubber is able to handle stresses under both tension and compression, while polyurethane supports rely on the cushioning medium to be effective only under compression. Rubber is also excellent in shear, where polyurethane is ineffective, making it ideal for applications that apply shear force to the bushing during articulation. Rubber does not bunch or wear like polyurethane, ultimately resulting in a durable part with consistent performance.
