But what is the purpose of a crankshaft pulley reinforcement?

The crankshaft pulley screw is known to loosen over time on S55B30 engines. This ensures that the timing is no longer timed and can cause major engine failure. The central locking of this screw developed here prevents the crankshaft central screw from rotating safely.

This lock is particularly recommended for original and prepared BMW N55 and S55 engines.

The set comes complete with the pulley and necessary screws. The tightening torque is 20 Nm, 90 degrees.
