CAT CAMS camshaft for CITROEN 1.4 1.6 8v engine code TU3JP
Here are our camshafts from Cat Cams for CITROEN 1.4 1.6 8v engine code TU3JP
Description :
The Cat Cams camshaft will allow you to significantly increase the performance of your vehicle.
When a vehicle needs to receive extensive mechanical preparation to achieve decent results and, above all, a significant range of progression, work on the camshafts becomes inevitable.
When preparing the Cat Cams camshaft, two changes are observed: the valve lift and the opening angle.
Valve lift allows the opening length and angle to be changed, allowing less or more air to enter the combustion chamber.
You should know that more air entering therefore modifies the air/fuel mixture in the cylinders which increases the power at high revs.
Also, the greater the valve opening angle, the greater the air flow, which promotes the air/fuel mixture and therefore more power.
Therefore, for use in competition, leisure, circuit and other areas, the revs will be more pronounced, the character of your engine will be more aggressive and thus you will benefit from a better range of use which will become a real asset.
Without touching on the subject of driving pleasure which will increase your sensations tenfold.
- Cat Cams camshaft reference: 4901206/C / Opening 0.1mm, intake 299°, exhaust 299° / Opening 1.0mm, intake 261°, exhaust 261° / Max lift intake 12.55mm, exhaust 12.55mm / Lift at TDC intake 4mm, exhaust 4mm / Full opening intake 110°, exhaust 110°.
In the TU roller engine, at least two different OEM camshaft types are used:1/ 27.65 mm base circle - 5.90 mm cam lift2/ 30.00 mm base circle - 5.25 mm cam lift. When ordering, please indicate the camshaft type of your engine. For camshafts with a higher cam lift, the base diameter is reduced to slide through the bearings during installation. FOR COMPETITION ENTRIES ONLY. Please check the following information: - Camshafts must rotate smoothly in the cylinder head, ensure free movement by machining where necessary - Distance between valve seal and retainer at full lift must be at least 0.6 mm - Minimum valve spring travel of 1.0 mm at full lift must be provided - Distance between valve and piston 1.0 mm (preferably 1.5 mm). Check 5-15° before TDC on the exhaust and after TDC on the intake. ONLY for use in competition engines with independent engine management (throttle position sensor) or carburetors
