VWRacing sport springs have been specially designed to replace your factory springs with slightly shorter and stiffer springs. They are designed to lower your vehicle's center of gravity and reduce body roll for better handling, while maintaining ride quality and comfort as if the manufacturer intended. VWR has found that the current OEM shocks from the VAG Group are much more sophisticated than previous generations, resulting in a significant improvement in handling with little change. VWRacing has painstakingly developed these springs to work perfectly with your OEM shocks and require no further changes to your suspension to reap their benefits.
VWRacing Sport Springs have been developed for several VAG platforms, all of which match their respective OEM shocks correctly, making them a very cost effective modification. With different engines and weights, VWR has developed a range of springs specific to your vehicle and powertrain. These springs are fully compatible with Volkswagen's Switchable ACC (Adjustable Chassis Control) shocks.
A typical VWRacing Sport Spring customer is one who demands performance above inventory without breaking the bank. These springs are not intended for customers looking to lower or follow their vehicle dramatically. For these customers, VWRacing's full line of coilovers are available to meet your individual needs.
Reduce the height of the vehicle and increase the rate of springs
Each vehicle will be lowered differently, depending on the platform. Most vehicles see a 20-25mm reduction in front and rear ride height. These heights were chosen to preserve the wheel travel necessary to maintain the ease of use of the standard car, with an increase in spring rate of around 10-15% depending on the type of car. Further lowering or stiffening, as some springs do, in the VWRacing experience, will cause the vehicle to rebound and lose control of the shock absorber, as the shocks do not match the spring and will also cause the springs to travel. You also risk significantly reducing the life of your shock absorbers by choosing the wrong springs which VWRacing sport springs cannot guarantee.
