Developed, designed and influenced by our direct involvement with BTCC and our success with the Hyundai i30N, we are proud to launch an oil cooling solution for the Hyundai Kona N.
This oil cooler radiator is sourced directly from our motorsport department so we know this product works well and has been proven in several racing events and winning vehicles over the past few years. The cores are durable enough to last through full racing seasons and are perfect for quick road and track use. The cooler has now also been used in our other two Hyundai oil cooler solutions and cleverly redesigned for a 100% plug and play solution for the Kona N.
During our time developing world-leading products for the Kona N, we found a significant flaw with the vehicle, particularly when tuned, just as we did with the I30N. Oil temperature can reach dangerous levels on the track or under heavy driving in warmer climates. Increasing oil temperature will have only one result: a reduction in sufficient lubrication of your engine's internal components, which in time can potentially damage the engine.
We have seen oil temperatures reduce significantly during the development of this product when locating the oil cooler heat exchanger to the front of the vehicle's grille, which allowed a circulation of superior look. FMOC14 is a must-have product for the driver who wants to protect the longevity of their vehicle and to operate it safely and reliably.
Unlike many oil cooler kits on the market, FMOC14 holds the factory water-cooled oil cooler in position - this essentially doubles your engine's oil cooling. This product should not be confused with a universal oil cooler, FMOC14 has a laser cut aluminum bracket which allows a perfect fit to the Kona N. The kit is completely bespoke for this vehicle, with braided oil lines of perfect length and our clever sandwich plate design allowing for simple installation. The oil cooler is also designed to be mounted in the most efficient way possible, as shown in the diagram below. This is to prevent oil cavitation which can also in some cases lead to potential engine damage over a long period of time.

With our wide range of performance parts on the market pushing the limits of Kona N in pursuit of the best power gains, adding power and speed creates heat. Rising oil temperatures will have only one result, a reduction in sufficient lubrication of the internal components of your engines. Therefore, this kit is a must have product for the avid driver, the location of the oil cooler radiator at the front of the vehicle's grille allows for superior airflow. During the development of this product, we noticed a significant drop in oil temperatures.
The Hyundai oil cooler has its inlet and outlets placed in the correct position for optimum flow, when oil coolers are fitted upside down this can lead to cavitation (air locks) in the system, which can, over an extended period, lead to engine fatigue and potential damage to internal components due to insufficient engine lubrication.
Unlike many oil cooler kits, our kit holds the factory water-cooled oil cooler in position. This essentially doubles the oil cooling of your engines. We have also developed the kit to use a custom laser cut aluminum bracket which allows a perfect fit to the Kona N crash bar. The kit includes 2 high quality pre-assembled double braided AN-8 oil lines.
We have incorporated a thermostat which is built into the sandwich plate of the oil cooler, this has been set to open at 85°C as this has been observed to be the optimum operating temperature for the oil cooler. Oil testing means the engine is operating at its maximum effective oil temperature range no matter how hard you push the vehicle.
