RacingLine Transmission and Chassis Engine Mounts are designed to reduce engine and transmission movement to help transfer power to the road. By tightening the motion of the engine and transmission, drivers will immediately feel the differences the second they pull away.
RacingLine has spent a considerable amount of time engineering these mounts for everyday vehicles and as such have developed a product suitable for light to heavily modified vehicles. Originally fitted for use in the UK Volkswagen Racing Cup, RacingLine developed a solution that was ideal for race cars, but lacked the refinement needed for street legal.
Vehicles developed for competition applications differ greatly from those used on the street and therefore the requirements between the two are often not directly shared. Many companies make the mistake of labeling extremely harsh and loud engine, transmission and subframe assemblies as street performance products, but in doing so they heavily sacrifice the driving experience without increase performance.
The development of RacingLine has undergone several updates and revisions before achieving a balance between comfort and control. The anti-squat engine mount (under the frame) offers a significant reduction in movement with and without acceleration, between gear changes and under acceleration. "Wheel Hop" is greatly minimized with this modification alone. This bracket fully replaces the original part and does so without trying to fix the problem with small plastic or rubber inserts. The subframe mount alone is a perfect starting point for anyone looking to increase performance without adding a lot of vibration or noise.
The engine mounts as well as the original transmission mounts offer a compromise between performance and comfort to satisfy a very wide range of customers. In doing so, soft compounds are used which introduce engine and transmission movement which can decrease stiffness and lead to failure. Such failures can lead to damage to engine and transmission components due to load changes.
The RacingLine engine and transmission mounts offer a real UPGRADE for those who additionally use the RacingLine anti-squat mount. The mounts increase vibration and noise in the cabin, but RacingLine has refined the mounts to provide only the necessary stiffness without sacrificing comfort.
