This seal allows a lowering of the intake temperature by up to 50 degrees (see photo 2)
Phenolic is the best material that can be used to minimize the heat exchange between the intake and the engine.
On our dynamometer we noticed an increase in power of 1 to 4% compared to the original joint.
In addition, it is much superior to a material like UHMW (NYLON) because it keeps its shape and therefore does not burr in the intake tract, which would reduce engine efficiency. In conclusion, the best choice is phenolic.
This shim is designed for a "small port" cylinder head, if you have a "big port" cylinder head please contact us.
This spacer comes between the two original joints.
You must add a normal gasket in front and behind the wedge, and find longer screws the thickness of the wedge.
