Phenolic is the best material that can be used to minimize heat exchange between the intake and the engine as much as possible. On our dynamometer we noticed an effect such as an increase in power of 1 to 4% compared to the original seal.
In addition, phenolic is much more superior to material such as UHMW (NYLON) because it keeps its shape and does not burr in the intake duct, which would decrease engine efficiency.
