But what is the use of a lightweight crankshaft pulley? Is it dangerous?

The weight reduction of this crankshaft damper pulley is equal to (or at least) the removal of over 56 kg of vehicle weight from the moving mass, which is not negligible.

The benefits are multiple such as greatly improved throttle response, power and torque are also increased with this easy to use and install part.

It is entirely designed and machined in CNC with a numerically controlled machine.

The upgraded CTS pulley features a larger diameter than stock and is manufactured from precision machined T66061 aluminum. It replaces the stock pulley's two-piece design and also reduces crankshaft rotational mass, freeing up horsepower.

The larger diameter pulley increases the compressor rotation speed and increases boost pressure. The increased boost pressure combined with improved ECU software results in a dramatic increase in horsepower and torque across the entire power band. This will not increase stress or excessive wear on the compressor or engine components.

NOTE: This pulley alone must be used with the appropriate “Stage 2” performance software.

• The 180mm crankshaft pulley can be used with engine mapping designed for the compressor pulley only (stage 2+) without replacing the OEM compressor pulley. The compression ratio is the same and installation is much easier! Stock SC pulley + 180mm CTS crankshaft pulley = 2.846, which is the same ratio as the stock SC CTS pulley + crankshaft pulley
