Lightweight reinforced flywheel 8.2 kg for Audi A3 S3 8P 2.0 TDI TFSI / TT 8J / Golf 5 GTI / Golf 6 R 6-speed gearbox 240mm
Here is our 8.2 kg STR Performance lightweight flywheel for Audi A3 S3 8P 2.0 TDI TFSI / TT 8J / Golf 5 GTI / Golf 6 R 2 and 4 wheel drive 6-speed gearboxes 02M 240mm
This lightened and reinforced High Performance flywheel from STR Performance , significantly optimizes engine revolutions as well as the distribution of weight between the front and rear of the crankshaft in terms of inertia on Audi A3 S3 8P 2.0 engines TDI TFSI / TT 8J / Golf 5 GTI / Golf 6 R 2 and 4 wheel drive 6-speed gearboxes 02M 240mm
Compatible with original or reinforced SACHS Performance clutch kit
Benefits of our lightweight single-mass flywheel:
- our steering wheel weighs only 8.2 kg, the original steering wheel 12 kg
- all our flywheels are made of chrome molybdenum steel G 1.75, extremely suitable for high speed engines
- homologated without limitation of CV
- significantly improved acceleration due to less flywheel mass
- the engine revs up faster, no loss of performance.
- suitable for motorsport and production vehicles
- less fuel consumption
- reduces response lag typical of turbo engines
- precision balancing, bearings are less affected, fine balanced according to DIN ISO 1940
- including starter crown
- compatible with both a standard clutch and a high performance clutch
- made in germany
- integrated release crown
Here are the assembly instructions:
Preparation :
The friction surface of the flywheel, the threads of the crankshaft, the crankshaft screws (only if these do not have a threadlocker) and the clutch screws must be cleaned of grease, dirt and grease. dust with a cleaner (e.g. brake cleaner), otherwise the clutch may slip after installation.
Screws with thread lock must be used with "medium strength" loctite.
Flywheel screws:
- Make sure they are screwed tightly into the thread.
- First tighten by hand then tighten evenly "crosswise" to 116Nm with a torque wrench.
- (1st pass about 65 Nm - 2nd pass 116 Nm)
- The friction surfaces (organic and sintered) are equipped with a "spring cage".
- In order not to impair the operation of the clutch, the friction disc must be fitted with the side of the spring cage facing the flywheel.
- The friction disc is centered on the flywheel using a centering mandrel (not supplied).
- Then the pressure plate is pressed onto the flywheel spindles and screwed on.
- It is important to ensure that the friction disc is centered if no centering mandrel is available for mounting.
- Screw the pressure plate with the cleaned screws
