Here are our camshafts from Cat Cams for HONDA S2000 4 cylinders 2.0L 16v engine code F20C

Description :

The Cat Cams camshaft will allow you to considerably increase the performance of your vehicle.

When a vehicle must receive extensive mechanical preparation to obtain results worthy of the name and above all a significant range of progression, work on the camshafts becomes inevitable.

When preparing the Cat Cams camshaft, two modifications are observed: the valve lift and the opening angle.

Valve lift allows you to change the length and opening angle, which causes less or more air to enter the combustion chamber.

You should know that more air entering therefore modifies the air/fuel mixture in the cylinders, which increases power at high revs.

Also, the greater the opening angle of the valve, the more the air flow increases, which promotes the air/fuel mixture and therefore more power.

Therefore for use in competition, leisure, circuit and other, the revs will be sharper, the character of your engine will be more furious and thus you will benefit from a better range of use which will become a real asset.

Without broaching the subject of driving pleasure which will increase your sensations tenfold.

Camshaft profile available for HONDA S2000 4 cylinders 2.0L 16v engine code F20C

Rally and circuit profile:

  • Cat Cams camshaft reference: 2501404/S /  Opening 0.1mm inlet 339°, exhaust 328° / Opening 1.0mm, inlet 258°, exhaust 248° / Max lift inlet 12.45mm, exhaust 11.50mm / Lift at TDC inlet 3.95mm, exhaust 3.85mm / Full opening inlet 104° exhaust 100°.

Check interference between cam and rocker arm, modify rocker arm if necessary. STD valve springs can be used up to the STD rev limit. This engine is very sensitive to valve clearance. Too much valve clearance will result in poor performance, damage to the valve and its seat, and ultimately possible valve failure. The optimal cold setting is generally around 0.20 mm (intake-exhaust). Do not exceed the valve clearance data specified in the Honda workshop manual.

  • Cat Cams camshaft reference: 2501405/S / Opening 0.1mm intake 351°, exhaust 340° / Opening 1.0mm intake 266°, exhaust 256° / Max lift intake 12.95mm, exhaust 12.00mm / Lift at TDC intake 4.40mm, exhaust 4.30mm / Full opening inlet 104°, exhaust 100°. Please note modifications to be expected: lower cup reference 99356/s, external spring reference PAC- E15009, internal spring reference PAC-I15009.

Check interference between cam and rocker arm, modify rocker arm if necessary. Around 2004, Honda changed the valve locks and spring brackets on the K20 and F20 DOHC engines. Older motors have a combination with an angle of 1:4, newer motors have an angle of 1:5. The new valve locks are recognizable by 4 arrows on the upper surface, the retainers have 2 points on the upper surface. Please ensure you order the correct parts. Cat Cams Restraint for Old Type (1:4): 99356/S. Cat Cams Restraint for New Type (1:5): 99485/S.

  • Cat Cams camshaft reference 2501406/S / Opening 0.1mm, intake 363°, exhaust 352° / Opening 1.0mm, intake 274°, exhaust 264° / Max lift intake 13.45mm, exhaust 12.50mm / Lift at TDC intake 4.90mm , exhaust 4.80mm / Full opening inlet 104°, exhaust 100°. Please note modifications to be expected: lower cup reference 99356/s, external spring reference PAC- E15009, internal spring reference PAC-I15009.
