The VAG group has decided, for cost reasons, to sometimes install plastic oil pans with a quarter-turn clip-on drain plug on certain 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TSI TFSI blocks.
In our opinion, they are very fragile, not very functional and they age badly.
We have opted for a simple and radical solution, their replacement. This is done very simply and it will be much more reliable and efficient.
Our crankcase comes with its specific screws and a tube of joint compound!
