Here are our camshafts from Cat Cams for VOLKSWAGEN 4 cylinders 1.6L 16v engine code AVY

Description :

The Cat Cams camshaft will allow you to considerably increase the performance of your vehicle.

When a vehicle must receive extensive mechanical preparation to obtain results worthy of the name and above all a significant range of progression, work on the camshafts becomes inevitable.

When preparing the Cat Cams camshaft, two modifications are observed: the valve lift and the opening angle.

Valve lift allows you to change the length and opening angle, which causes less or more air to enter the combustion chamber.

You should know that more air entering therefore modifies the air/fuel mixture in the cylinders, which increases power at high revs.

Also, the greater the opening angle of the valve, the more the air flow increases, which promotes the air/fuel mixture and therefore more power.

Therefore for use in competition, leisure, circuit and other, the revs will be sharper, the character of your engine will be more furious and thus you will benefit from a better range of use which will become a real asset.

Without broaching the subject of driving pleasure which will increase your sensations tenfold.

Camshaft profile available for VOLKSWAGEN 4 cylinders 1.6L 16v engine code AVY

Sports profile :

  • Cat Cams camshaft reference: 7607103/S / Opening 0.1mm, intake 268°, exhaust 260° / Opening 1.0mm, intake 219°, exhaust 211° / Max lift intake 9.10mm, exhaust 9.10mm / Lift at TDC intake 0.85 mm, exhaust 0.65mm / Full opening inlet 110°, exhaust 110°.

Only for engines with VVT system (intake) and timing belt drive-camshafts for use with original VVT system. The exact data on the valve timing of the original camshafts is not known. Valve timing data is shown at an estimated tip angle of 110°. The actual valve timing in the engine may be different, as well as the indicated lift at TDC. These engines feature the VANOS system on the intake camshaft. Valve lift and timing data is shown on a virtual 110° centerline (with corresponding virtual lift at TDC). The VANOS system changes the centerline and therefore the timing and lift data at TDC!!!#ECU reprogramming required. FLAT NOSE cam design. The distance between the valve and the piston must be at least 1.0 mm: - check 5-15° after TDC on intake - check 5-15° before TDC on exhaust. Machine the pistons if necessary. Improper installation can cause serious engine damage.
