As on any vehicle and more particularly sports models, prepared for leisure or competition, the engine mounts are nerve centers on the behavior of the mechanics. High hardness rubber compared to polyurethane:

High density engine mounts are made from high hardness rubber instead of polyurethane for a number of reasons. While vulcanized rubber mounts are more expensive to prototype due to increased manufacturing complexity and high initial tooling costs, rubber is inherently better than polyurethane as a damping medium for mounts and bushings.

Rubber is able to handle stresses under both tension and compression, while polyurethane supports rely on the cushioning medium to be effective only under compression. Rubber is also excellent in shear, where polyurethane is ineffective, making it ideal for applications that apply shear force to the bushing during articulation. Rubber does not bunch or wear like polyurethane, ultimately resulting in a durable part with consistent performance.
